One Year Appointment

So much has happened this week and I've totally been procrastinating on actually writing a blog because I've been recooping from the birthday festivities. And that recooping involved 3 days of taking care of the kids all by myself while Brent was out of town. As you can imagine... the recooping process has been slow.

Momma needs a vacation.

I'm afraid I'm going to forget all the things that I've been making mental notes about this week. Wyatt is passing out kisses like a frog in heat, and by that, I mean, he has been slipping the tongue! He comes at you with his tongue poking all the way out and wriggling it around like he is trying to seduce you! I get so torn too because it's painful to want to turn away a monkey kiss, but at the same time, I want to be like "EWW! What a little freakazoid!" I try to offer him my cheek to kiss instead, but the little turd inevitably finds my lips with his sloppy little tongue like a blind person trying to read brail on my face with his mouth. It's totally cute and totally sick at the same time.

So, like I said, Brent has been out of town for the last couple of days and that just leaves me a hot mess on the floor waiving my white flag. Well, when daddy walked in the door this morning, Cal decided that was reason enough to celebrate by busting out her 2nd and 3rd set of steps. Daddy. Not momma and not momma's tireless solo-weekend of peekaboo and crawling around playing chase efforts. Nope. Just Daddy. I was so happy for Cal and Brent and happy that I was there to see it, but I wallowed in a little bit of self-pity on that one. Woe is me... I know. At least I got her first steps and hopefully, she is saving up her first, "I love you." for me. (Hey, it's my blog... I can dream if I want to!)

Monkey finally started getting his groove on. It's kind of a bouncing thang... a make the girls swoon kind of a thang. He said "bye bye" this morning too! That was a relief seeing as how I was starting to picture him in his highschool graduation gown chanting "Momma. Momma. Momma." Callie said "Hi Kitty!" this weekend which was special for me because that was my first sentence too! (If you can even call that a sentence.) Also, I guess she is over "leedle" and "loddy" because she is now calling everything "duddy". What a cute little weird beard.

We went to the doctor on Tuesday for our one year appointment and both kids were the exact same height! Here are their stats:

Caroline
Weight - 22 lbs. 4 oz. (70%)
Height - 29.5 inch. (60%)
Head - 46 cm (75%)

Wyatt
Weight - 19 lbs. 9 oz. (10%)
Height - 29.5 inch. (40%)
Head - 46 cm (25%)

Just incase you are wondering, the percentile charts differ between boys and girls. That's how they can be the same for height and head circumference, but be in totally different percentiles. I've been very slack on taking pictures this week too, so instead, I'll post a few more that Allison took. Love!
