Brent and I went to a cookout at our friends' house on Sunday night. It was nice to get out of the house for a minute and the babies slept the whole time so we kind of felt like a couple again. On Memorial Day, Callie got evicted from our bedroom. It was super sad and I wanted to cry. I would love for the kid to sleep in our room forever (and Wyatt too if he didn't snore so loud) but Brent was done with it, so upstairs she went. I took pictures of the big milestone - it was traumatic for me. We'll see how the babies do in the room together.Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Just An Update
I haven't posted in awhile because I've been going crazy with that scrapbooking stuff! I have a couple of pages that I'm not ready to post because they aren't finished but wow, it's so much fun and did you know that you can go to shutterfly and download the scrapbook pages after you are done making them and the peeps will print the pages in a bound book for $9.99. I'm so excited! Also, I found this program that you can used to customize a font to look like your exact handwriting!!! I know I'm the biggest nerd ever, but seriously, I get all excited about getting to use my own font in my scrapbooking pages. It's crazy typing words out on your computer and seeing it come up on the screen as your own handwriting.

The kids are good. We fed them peas for the first time today. Callie loved them and sucked them right off the end of the spoon. She's going to be a chow hound. Wyatt was a little unsure but ate it better than he had eaten rice cereal. I know it's not exciting, but hey - peas and rice cereal are major topics of my life right now... that, and poop. Yesterday I was playing "superman" with Wyatt (you know how you hold the kid up over your head while they look down at you) because he loves it so much and it always makes him laugh. Well, this time, while he was flying high above my head, he puked on my face!!! Hahaha!!! It was so sick! Brent just about fell off the couch because he was lauging so hard! Pew. Also, please look at homegirl's belly in the picture below!

Family Trip to the A-T-L
The memorial service for Heather's father was this past weekend in Atlanta. We left Thursday night at 8:00 after the kids had fallen asleep and got into Atlanta at 1:00. It seemed like the kids loved the adventure of it because when they woke up in the hotel room they were laughing and smiling so much! They spent the afternoon at their grandparent's house while Brent and I went to the service. It was really nice and it was good to see Heather and her mom and to know that so many people love them and are providing support for them through this really tough time.

After the service, Brent and I went and picked up the kids and took them to IKEA. Wow! IKEA is so awesome and fabulous! It's a good thing that we don't have one in Bluffton, otherwise our house would look like the inside of the IKEA catalog. After that, we decided to truck it on back home so that the kids could wake up in their own beds but we didn't make it past Macon before Brent and I decided we were too tired to make it the whole way. It was nice waking up and taking our time getting home the next morning. It was a total crash course on taking the babies out in public!

Sometime over the weekend, Callie caught a cold in her eye! What the hell is that!?!? I didn't even know nastiness like that existed but I'm sure it's just the first of weird sicknesses that will be brought into this house. Anyway, my point is that I had to take her to the doctor's office this morning for it and of course they weigh your kid at every visit no matter what. WELL... Girlfriend weighs 15 lbs. 8 oz. and is in the 90th percentile for her age!! Porky McPorkerson! The doctor laughed because the last time we were hoping she would even make it on the growth chart because she was a preemie and now Big Bertha is about to fall off the chart on the other end! The doctor started to discuss putting her on a diet as she was checking her height but stopped when she realized that she is also in the 90th percentile for that too! So, my baby is proportionate! She might be an amazon baby, but at least, she is proportionate. I just hope she doesn't grow up to be some huge and big boned ogre! She won't be able to get a date or shop for clothes anywhere other than 'Big & Tall'. Hahahaha! My poor little cal bear.

Prayers For My Heath
My friend Heather lost her dad to cancer this morning at the too young age of 61. She has been a good friend of mine since the beginning of high school and we went to college together too. Please pray for her mom and for her to help them find strength to get them through this horribly tough time. I admire her unwavering faith and hope that she continues to find comfort in Him and to know that one day she will meet her dad again in Heaven.

Tiny Vacation
This weekend I went to visit my friend Ape in Charleston without Brent or the babies. I was pretty nervous about how I was going to feel spending a night away from the juicy poots and I really did miss them but it was so ridiculously relaxing and it was nice being able to be myself for a minute instead of a human burp rag. We went shopping and went to lunch at this fun bar on Sullivan's Island called Poe's Tavern. I'm so glad that she's close enough to be able to visit her whenever I want. It was great.
Yesterday evening, Brent and I were getting ready to put the kids to bed when we saw this beautiful rainbow right in the backyard. It was so close and so pretty... the pictures don't even come close to showing how vivid the colors were.
I have found a new hobby that I am giddy about! I know I'm going to sound like a total dork right now, but I just learned about digital scrapbooking about 2 days ago and quickly became obsessed with trying to figure out which packages to use and how to download all the different papers and stickers and buttons and stuff to be able to do my scrapbooking digitally! I'm so excited because it's much easier and cheaper than making the real deal. Here is my first attempt:

My Callie Said "Hi"!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh! My girlfriend said "Hi!" today and I'm not kidding! She had been getting so close for about a week watching my mouth and trying to move it the same way. This morning when I started talking to her and repeating, "Hi. Hi. Hi." she just up and said "Hi!"! I mean it was so perfect sounding that anyone could have recognized it. I freaked out and started trying to get her to say it again but of course she wouldn't. It was just a bunch of babbles after that - but that one time... I think my girlfriend is going to be a genius! Hahaha! I was a very early talker too and said "Hi." at three months old also so I was bound and determined to get one of them talking just as early. Of course, it could have been a fluke and the real test now is if she repeats it but holy crap I was such a proud momma this morning! I swear I thought her first words were going to be "Bless you!" because every time she or Wyatt sneezes she coos something similar to saying 'bless you'. I mean, it's two distinct syllables but of course it sounds nothing like the actual words... but, it happens EVERY TIME one of them sneezes. So crazy cute!

Wyatt has been having an attitude problem and has been refusing to go down for a nap during the day. By the end of the day, he is so cranky and inconsolable that Brent and I have threatened to sell him on Ebay! What a monkey! Both kids are sleeping through the night now and are so fat that they are fitting into their 6 month old clothes. Hahaha! Is that bad?

My brother sent me a beautiful bouque of flowers with a card telling me how proud he was of me. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful thing ever! Thank you so much Bink - I love you!
