Vacation Crack!

Brent and I got home on Sunday evening and I have been hesitant to even look at pictures from the trip because I'm in denial about being at home. Monday morning gave way to plenty of laundry and poop however, and memories of the little piece of heaven that was our stateroom balcony, began drifting away far more quickly than I would have liked. Too bad Brent and I have been constantly scouring the internet to book our next vacation - cruises are vacation crack!

Anyway, before I dive deep into all the pictures and happenings from what was probably the best vacation I've ever been on, I wanted to post some pics of the nuggets from the week before we left.

I'm so proud of this picture because we talked about how some kids don't have toys and that we needed to give away some of them to kids who needed toys. They did it all themselves and the pile they are standing behind is the one they gave to other kids! They were so selfless that they even gave away their kitchen! I love those nuggets to death!

EKS!

Before I post a few pictures from the weekend, I need to give a shout out to my 31 year old hubs! His birthday was last Thursday and he gives me hell in the 4 days between our birthdays where I'm officially a year old than he is. We're too leathery to celebrate anymore.

This weekend, we had some friends stop by on their way down to Disney. It was awesome to catch up with them. Elaine was my old babysitter when I was growing up and was a huge part of our family. I adored and looked up to her in every way.

Her kids were absolutely precious and my kids fell in love with them. I wish we still lived a few doors away from each other because having her here felt so normal to me. It was actually kind of shocking that it had been such a long time since I had seen her last. We were so grateful that we got to spend some time with them!

Big Boy Bed!

We finally moved Wyatt into a big boy bed! He's been completely potty trained for well over a month and has never once had an accident since he ditched the pull-ups. He was starting to climb out of his crib to use the potty at night and I realized we had taken his crib as far as it was gonna go.

I teared up quite a bit as I was tearing down his crib. All I could remember was my perfect little baby boy sleeping in it and here I was, taking it down already. It felt like I was closing a chapter in his life and I hated every minute of it.

But my big-footed, crazy toddler was over the moon about his new bed! Infact, he has been more than willing to go down for naps and doesn't put up a fight about bedtime at night either. For me, there has been one really nice benefit of the big boy bed - I get to snuggle up with him and read him a story every night before he falls asleep. It softens the blow of saying goodbye to the bed he came home to.

Thirty to the One

Last week was nuts! We have been showing the house nonstop which is great news, but also completely exhausting (especially on the days that Brent is out-of-town). I'm ready for this piece to sell because all the cleaning is getting old. I want to sprawl out in our stank and funk for awhile without having to worry about it.

Anyway, I wanted to post a few pictures that I didn't get around to posting before Easter. Actually, it was also my birthday on Easter and Brent got me a much needed massage which was drool inducing. The kids gave me flowers and a card which was also really sweet. I'm not as upset about 31 as I was about 30. (God willing) I'll start feeling lurkage of the grim reaper again around 34 when I'm knocking on being halfway to 40. Gross.

I'm so excited because we have friends coming in town this weekend who I haven't seen since I was about 16! Also, Brent and I are headed out on a much needed vacation together in less than 2 weeks! So fun! I'm getting nauseous about leaving the kids though. We've never both left them at the same time and I'm just praying that they do well and don't miss us as horribly as we will miss them.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! The kids were up before it was light outside because they were so excited. I actually had to run upstairs and distract them from their windows for a minute while the Easter Bunny finished putting out the eggs that had edible stuff in them. When we turned them loose, the nuggets came barreling downstairs and got into their Easter baskets only pausing briefly to check out the window and make sure there were eggs outside.

When they did their Easter egg hunt, I was shocked at how sweet the kids were to each other. Wyatt found pink eggs and passed them over to Callie and Cal helped catch Wyatt's eggs as he sent them rolling down the slide to the safe haven of his basket. It was shocking because when Brandon and I hunted for eggs on Easter morning it was ruthless and bloody. We were all about hoarding the most eggs and stealing from unsupervised baskets. Almost as equally amazing, when the runts dumped out the contents of their eggs, they divvied them up equally. So precious!

We met my parents and grandma on the island for bunch. My kids killed the strawberry pancakes! They literally had nothing left on their plates. Wyatt petted the waitress. We had such a nice morning and I hope that you all had a Happy Easter with your families too!

Tons of love from The Harbin family!
