Whitewater Rafting!

Brent and I got away to Charlotte for the weekend on our very last hoorah in our twenties. It's horrible to think that I will be 30 this time next week! It really makes me want to take a melon baller to my eyes. I'm not feeling it at all! To add insult to injury, I'm starting to hoard wrinkles and gray hairs. Plastic surgery and gray-coverage-hair-dye, here I come!

Anyway, we went on a Whitewater Rafting trip at the U.S. National Whitewater Center and Olympic training site. It was awesome and the rapids were amazing! The first course we went down was class 2-3 rapids and the second course was 3-4. A lot of the rafts got dumped over because the currents were so strong. Brent almost got tossed out but pulled through in the end. There was also a looming thunderstorm so it rained the entire time we were on the water. It was so much fun!

We spent the rest of our time in Charlotte enjoying big city shopping and restaurants. Besides the rafting, the second thing I'll remember from the trip was the enormous amounts of cherry blossom trees that were up there in full bloom. They were just gorgeous! We missed the babes terribly but had an amazing time sending some of our final days in our twenties out with a bang!

Two lil' ditties

How freaking cute is that tiny guy?!?! I want a fox when I grow up! Look at the ears! Even the spazoid move he does at the end reminds me of my Tony, so I am fully prepared for the craziness of that persuasion too! It's in the stars, I'm telling you! Precious Fox Harbin is in my not too distant future!

Now, this is the second bundle of coolness. I really don't appreciate wine like some people I know that do, BUT... anyone can appreciate this for pure pimp factor alone! I mean, if this was in my house, I would sell tickets to see it and I would feel like the Master of the Universe.

Lig ol' Bips

There are moments I have with the babies sometimes that are so cute (at least to me) that I just don't want to forget them no matter how embarrassing and repulsive I come across in the story. It's also probably a little blurb that only I would appreciate. Brent is already aware of my nastiness, and he tolerates it which is all that matters anyway.

Tonight, right after the kids took a bath and were smelling so fresh and so clean clean, I just couldn't get enough hugs and kisses out of them. I absolutely love it after they have had a bath and right before bed when they are calm, clean, and perfect. It's the best! I bury my nose in their neck and try not to take little bites of them because they are so cute and sweet smelling. Anyway, I had pinned Callie down and was drowning her cute little belly in kisses. We were laughing and wallowing around, in complete blissful love. Anyway, at one point while I was admiring her, I watched her touch her lip, pretend she had something between her fingers (even though she absolutely didn't) and flick it towards the TV. For a brief second I thought, 'what the hell is she doing?', but quickly realized as I doubled over in a fit of laughter that she was mimicking one of my nasty habits!

Because I have fairly big lips and don't give a crap about chapstick, they are always dry and peeling. I am ALWAYS tearing off chunks of my lips and haphazardly flicking my dead lip skin wherever it shall land. It's horribly gross. It's something that is so common for me to do that I rarely even notice that I'm doing it unless I pick off a chunk that is too big and my lip starts bleeding profusely. It's a total auto-pilot type bad behavior thing that I ashamedly do.

Trust me, I do realize how disgusting it is that she would pick that up from me, but I cannot get over how much that runt absorbs my mannerisms. It's such a powerful responsibility to be a mother.

Despite the nastiness, my heart welled up bigger than it could handle and once again, I couldn't get over how lucky I am to be these precious little twinados' momma! I can't even handle it!

We are all so sick! Even the freaking cat has pink eye. I can't tell if it's from me getting sick earlier in the week and passing it through the kids, or if it's from the enormous amounts of pollen that is in the air and everywhere else. Poor little Wyatt is fighting with tears through his nap right now because he has a fever and can't breathe. I'm trying hard not to scoop him up and let him stay up. He's so cranky though since he hasn't been able to sleep well in a few days.

It's also gotten me in somewhat of a bloggy funk. This week has just been awkward and weird and I'm looking forward to getting past this winter/spring limbo. Anyway, since I don't have any exciting news, I'm just going to a couple of pictures from the last week that are cute. I hope you all are coping with this pollen nastiness better than we are...

Beachy Springishness

Y'all! It was 83 degrees here today! I mean, I feel the funk of the winter lifting off to it's final layers and I'm so relieved! I can't wait to be at the beach again especially since the kids are pretty much little adults and love talking about fish and birds and shells and boats. They are going to have such a great summer this year and I am so excited for them!

Anyway, we braved the beach today for the first time this season. I was afraid it might still be too cold, and it was. The coastal breeze is still too much to tolerate without a light jacket. The kids had a blast though finding shells and flying a kite for the first time! It was such a fun day! I love those turds way too much!

On the way home, Callie said that she needed new shoes. So I asked her, "What color shoes?", and she said, "Yeyow shoes! Mall!" What does that miss priss know about any mall!?!? I swear that the vocabulary fairies are creepy! She started talking to me about a "chef" the other day when I had briefly come across the food network. Wyatt, on the other hand, wants "Geen shoes!". He thinks everything is green.

Tonight when I asked Callie if she had a fun day at the beach, she talked about finding shells on the beach. Wyatt was much more pessimistic and only remembered that it had been very cold! Heh. Cute little booger.

I'm still unwinding from this past weekend. Too bad Lauren and I are both battling this nasty cough thing. It was worth it though. I would have gotten the flu for that!

Happy Birthday EKS! Love you! Always.

Britney's BACK!

The Britney concert was INSANE!!!! It wasn't even right how ridiculously crazy that concert was. I really don't even think that the word "concert" properly describes it. It was more of a spectacle than anything else. Lauren put it best when she said, "I feel like I just saw a unicorn!" because that's really what it felt like.

We had an awesome day in Atlanta even before the concert by getting to do whatever we wanted. We also got to take our time getting ready with no little kids running around who needed their butts wiped or whatever. Being away from home, just as two girls who wanted to throw down and find trouble, was perfect!
Britney was amazing! Anyone would have loved the concert because it was so Vegas with all the pyrotechnics and Cirque de Soleilish type stuff. She seemed so happy and was smiling the whole time. You could tell she was having a good time! People were going crazy screaming for her! It was unbelievable! I assumed she would just look like a normal person when she came out on stage, but she definitely has that larger-than-life star quality thing going on. When I watched her, I was just in awe. I can't believe she can do all this and be a momma too! I was so proud of her!

The rest of the weekend was stupid fun too and Lauren and I pushed it so hard that we ran ourselves sick. I slept the entire day yesterday after I took her to the airport and barely managed to wake up long enough to eat dinner. It was a weekend full of memories fo' sho! Snook, luvya gerr!

T-MINUS 3 DAYS!

And for an extra spring in my step, Callie peed on the potty 9 times yesterday! Wyatt peed twice too!
