Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah!

The second day in the dirty was the BEST! We took the kids to the Yellow River Game Ranch; a place that Brent had fond memories of going to as a kid. When we lived in Atlanta, he would always mention that we needed to go, but we never did while we lived there.

The Yellow River Game Ranch is a place where animals go if they have been hurt and probably wouldn't make it back into the wild. All the animals are tame and beg for snacks as soon as you walk onto the grounds. We bought so many packs of carrots and crackers and peanuts it was ridiculous. I felt the need to feed ALL the animals and kept sending Brent back to buy more snacks. As we walked along, a heard of animals followed us and I totally felt like Uncle Remus!

We ended up leaving a little early because I got completely overwhelmed when two big bears started fighting over a carrot that Brent gave them. I have NEVER heard such bellowy growls out of nature-creatures before and the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end! Brent and I quickly looked at each other, grabbed the kids, and hauled tail!

A quick trip to the bunny pen calmed us all down after that. I'm not sure who had more fun - us or the kids, but it's definitely somewhere we'll visit again soon!

That place grosses me out. The beginning was nice but the further we went in the smell and nastiness set in. Glad you had fun.
