Steamers and Beer
My mom is in town this week visiting with us and the babies. Brent and I have been dying for fresh blue crabs ever since we moved here but I don't have the heart to kill something that big and my mom is evil and has no problem with it. Plus, we just found a really good roadside seafood stand that sells live crab. Shucking the crabs is a lot of work and by the time you are finished eating, you are soaked in crab gut juices. It's pretty stank but ain't nothin' better than steamers and beer! Here are some pictures of the babies from this week since I haven't posted any in awhile. I can't believe how fast they are growing!

An Ode to the Furbabies
Since we've had our squirts, our furry children have taken a backseat which I'm assuming has been pretty traumatic for them. Gracie has probably gotten it the worst. She was used to running the show and had Brent and myself at her beckon call. Now, she's lucky if we remember to fill up her food bowl. Initially, she was very skittish of the babies and wouldn't come within 10 feet of the flailing little annoyances. Now, she's becoming super jealous and will try and squeeze herself into spaces between us and the babies. The other day, we caught her grooming Callie's out of control hair. So, as much as she would hate to admit it, I think she's becoming fond of the little boogers. Tony (our retarded cat) is still oblivious to their existence. The puppies are actually quite proud of the runts. We'll take them for a walk with the babies in the stroller and they walk at guard very close to the stroller. Of course, if they happen upon a piece of poop from another dog, it's treat enough to forget their duties as watchdogs. Anyway, here are pictures of the furry kids I took today. Kiddie (the hyena look alike) resembles a piece of very ugly road kill in this picture! He's precious!

R & R
A very uneventful week followed by an even more uneventful weekend. I'm not complaining (it's actually the very first weekend we've had as just the 4 of us) ...I just have nothing to write about. It is nice marinating here in bed, surfing the internet with my girl peanut (as opposed to my boy flavored one) sleeping on my chest and serving the dual purpose of being one of the great loves of my life and a slightly squirmy throw blanket. Anyway, here are some recent pics of the squirts... Love!

The Big Too-Ate!
I can't believe that I'm 28 years old today! I feel like I've got one foot in the grave but I can't complain because it's the first birthday I've had as a momma and I couldn't ask for anything better than that!

Another Whirlwind of Visitors!
So, my little bro left Tuesday morning and my best friend, Laura (aka Aunt Zippy) came into town on Tuesday. She so far has been the only visitor to make it through a whole night of baby feedings! It was great and Brent got to sleep straight through that first night. Of course, I abused the crap out of him by sleeping through at least one feeding every night for the rest of the week. Anyway, Aunt Zippy was awesome and she was completely great with her niece and nephew. More so, she got me back to my roots a bit by being silly and helping me regain my sanity. It was refreshing as hell! We had fun just hanging out and playing with the kids. She left on Saturday afternoon. I miss her so bad!
Another one of my old friends that I've known since kindergarten came into town on Friday to see the little turdballs. She's a momma herself so she was just a natural at scooping up the babies and burping them or playing with them or whatever. I forget how nice it is to talk to someone who has known me since we were both so little. We both have such funny memories of being dorky little kids and getting into trouble together.

The babies are doing so well! We had a doctor's appointment today for them to get their first HUGE round of shots. Callie weighs 10 lbs. 14 oz. and Wyatt is at 10 lbs. 6 oz. We have dubbed her "Big Bertha" since she is turning into such a beast! Poor little Wyatt is starting to look scrawny compared to the Michelin woman. I keep telling her to pack it on while she can because it's the only time in her life when being obese is precious! She's my little homie!

Fun Pictures From This Weekend!
Brandon is leaving tomorrow to go back to Germany. I'm totally sad about it but it was nice to be able to spend time with him. Hopefully, we will be able to con the grandparents into watching the rugrats for a few days so that Brent and I can go visit him in Germany. We had a really great weekend except for the fact that some woman said to me, "Looks like you've got a little one in the oven!" I was mortified and she is lucky I didn't strangle her with my bare hands right then and there! Needless to say, I started running this morning and a strict diet too. I can't believe that she said that to me! I have this lingering embarrassment that I can't seem to shake and now I feel the need to suck in my gut when I'm in public. Pew. Anyway, here are some cute pictures from this weekend...

Uncle Binky!
Uncle Binky flew home from Germany last week to meet the kids for the first time. Frank and Brandon share so much family resemblance that I think he could pass Frank off as his own kid. Brandon is moving back to the United States next month and will be stationed at Fort Stewart. I couldn't be happier about that and I'm excited that Caroline and Wyatt will get to spend tons of time with their crazy Uncle Bink!
The twins are doing so well! They had a doctor's appointment last week and Caroline weighed in at 9 lbs. 7 oz. and Wyatt at 9 lbs. 5 oz. They are eating like two fat pigs and I say more power to them! The fatter the better! Wyatt rolled over from his stomach to his back twice today and I was lucky enough to catch it on video! I can't believe how fast these runts are growing!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Please watch this hilarious crackhead leprachaun video! For one, Mobile Alabama is hurting for news. For two, where did these peeps git ther edu-ma-cation? I can't believe these people are for real! I don't know which part is my favorite... the "amateur sketch" or the woman who thinks it's a crackhead who bought some bad stuff and went to live up in a tree! It blows my mind that these peoples' vote counts for just as much as mine! It really makes me want to stick a fork in my eye!

His First Smile Too!
Victory is mine!!!! I told Brent that I was going to kill him if these babies smiled at him first. Lucky me, Wyatt smiled his first real smile at ME the day after Callie did! It was so precious! Brent swears that the kids will be begging hugs from him before me. We'll see! :)

Taking the kids out in public kinda seems like we are part of a freak show. People stare, point, and feel the need to come up and talk to us. We might as well have hot pink mohawks and tattoos all over our faces. It's weird. I sort of experienced the same thing when I was pregnant when a stranger found out I was having twins. It wasn't as bad though since they were under a layer of skin and most people didn't assume that there were two buns in the oven. Now though, we can't hide them and we have to answer the dumbest questions over and over! "Are those twins?" NO! One is ours and the other one we bought at Walmart! "Are they identical?" YES! We just chose to dress one up as a girl and one up as a boy! I guess it's something that Brent and I will have to get used to...

6 Weeks...6 Hours...& Her First Smile!
Yesterday was so great for the babies! I can't believe that they are already six weeks old! It's so sad seeing how fast they grow and how everyday, it seems like I'm saying goodbye to my teeny tiny little peanuts! They are turning into true porkers! Callie slept 6 hours and 14 minutes last night! I was so proud of her! It would have been a great stretch of sleep for me and Brent if the babies were on the same schedule during the night - of course, that would be way too good to be true. This morning I starting playing with Callie and she genuinely smiled at me! It was so cute and melted my heart! I can't wait until she's smiling all the time! (But there I go again...wishing time away.) We took some pictures at bath time today and while I don't think that the kids look anything alike, other people have a hard time figuring out which one is Frank and which one is Callie. The tank is on the left and miss thang is on the right.Sunday, March 11, 2007
Lots-O-Visitors
We had a really busy week with company this past week. Ape came on Sunday to see the kids and we went shopping. Shopping just isn't the same now that I have kids. I shop for kiddie clothes and diapers and other baby crap. Plus, I'm still too fat to buy any cute clothes for myself. Heath came to help out with the babies on Tuesday and Wednesday. She was the best helper ever! She brought dinner and helped me clean and made cookies! I hadn't been able to pal around with her for a REALLY long time and it was just great being able to spend time with her. My parents came on Friday and will be here through Tuesday. We took the kids to visit their great grandmother yesterday... their first real outting! It's been really fun but the days go by so ridiculously fast. By the way, wish me luck... Brent goes out of town on Monday and I'm going to have to feed these runts all by myself during the night. I'm very scared!
